Pictura. November, 2009
Recently I have been assisting Pictura with converting their Photoshop web designs into clean XHTML+CSS code. The company has a mixture of both small and medium sized clients and provide online and print solutions.
A number of the interfaces I worked on have not as yet been been pushed live at the time of this writing, however the InSport website is now live and is a good example of clean code, to ensure the site loads quickly.
Elysium Restaurant. October, 2009
Friends of mine approached me about doing a simple website for their restaurant opening. There was minimal budget for the website and it was mainly just to be used as an online presence to display their current menu.
The business is now well established after 3 years and doing very well, with plans to perhaps open a second restaurant in the near future. Over time the website has had new features added to it, and hence was in need of recoding. So before under taking this project, I sat down with the owners to nut out what they wanted their website to do.
Things like photos and additional information was kept to a minimum to ensure elder patrons were able to focus on the information they needed. Paragraphs automatically expand the text size to make reading the content easier. Each page also needed to have a contact form, so we placed it in the footer in the hope more people would use the website to contact the restaurant.
KIA. August, 2009
The last project I worked on for Evolve Creative was the website for KIA Motors Australia. A lot of thought had to go into the target audience and how to make the interface appeal to them. The home page needed to contain many links to other pages, however remain somewhat minimal.
The website was done in conjunction with Innocean Australia and required the approval of the CEO of the company before going ahead with production. Its just great to know that my design work can be used on such a large corporate account for the whole world to see!
3 Blocks Left. July, 2009
I was approached by 3 Blocks Left to assist with getting their website designs to work in a content management system (CMS) provided by a third party. I was able to turn their Photoshop layouts into clean code, but then had to crow bar a lot of the XHTML to get it work within the system.
I have worked with the company on a number of projects and each time we were able to turn their well crafted designs into a web interface that both the client and we were proud of. Some of the sites we worked on together include Head Wines, the White House Productions and Limelight Illuminations.
