Who is corebean?

I am a Sydney based designer looking to share my knowledge/experience/opinions with those whom are interested. This website was started as a type of sandbox website to test ideas on, so I could hone my craft. As my skills have improved, I have found myself educating clients and colleagues on a variety of topics in regards to digital design.

I have found a lot of people to be receptive to learning about good design. However, as design is such a subjective thing, being able to advocate why a design is good, has become some what of an art itself.

Life . corebean.NET sytle

Having wasted away in the corporate world for 10 years, the desire to create became overwhelming. I faced up to my mid-life crisis and dumped work in the IT field quicker than donuts disappearing in front of Homer and jumped head long into the web design industry.

The creative side I tried to suppress for so long has now got a daily outlet, and yet I feel I can utilize all my IT experience in many aspects of working in the demanding realm of digital design.

I do run my own personal blog, however, you may be more interested in the design tagged entries on my blog. Life is more than working to survive. I learnt this the hard way. Life doesn't give you things on a platter, you have to go and get them. It took me 30 years to figure it out, but at least I did. Kudos to those that figured it out early in life. You no doubt are the ones living the good life ....

Anyway, I am now very happily involved in my new career. This happiness has filtered through to all aspects of my life and given me a new lease on my family life. It didn't take a sports car or a mistress to help me through the mid-life crisis, just the realisation that I can make my life so much more enjoyable by bringing joy to others. Its a win-win situation, as clichéd as it sounds.
